Choosing the right filter, wherever you live
Canada's climate is hard on HVAC systems. Long heating seasons mean furnace fans run for months at a time, summers bring humidity, pollen and – more and more often – wildfire smoke, and many homes now have tightly sealed building envelopes, heat pumps and HRVs that rely on clean filters to run efficiently. A good pleated filter protects both your family's lungs and your equipment.
| Rating | Best for |
|---|---|
| MERV 8 | Everyday dust, lint and pollen; rentals and new-build dust |
| MERV 11 | Most family homes, pets and seasonal allergies |
| MERV 13 | Asthma, severe allergies and wildfire smoke |
